Snipers are trained professionals that use precision shots from distances of two miles away; becoming fully qualified requires extensive training and practice before becoming fully licensed. Sniper units often practice at their home base or other public venues that may pose potential terrorist targets in order to prepare law enforcement for emergency response responses in these locations.
At popular sporting events like the Super Bowl, high levels of security are provided to attendees. This can include armed police officers observing crowd behavior as well as trained snipers stationed atop stadiums to provide aerial surveillance over the field and any potential security threats during events like this one.
Police snipers with expertise in public venue security can often be found at sporting arenas and events across the country, helping ensure spectators’ safety as well as deter any possible terrorist attacks that might take place during an event. This type of security can also be found at concerts, music festivals and parades.

The images were originally shared via U.S. Tactical Supply of Oregon which offers sniper rifles and equipment but later removed after sparking controversy.
Not surprisingly, sporting events like the Super Bowl and other sporting events rely heavily on snipers for security. Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys made no secret of their presence during an interview with CNN before last year’s Super Bowl; in particular he claimed that their stadium was designed with multiple sniper perches from its inception.
Protecting events requires training of experienced police snipers on how to provide proactive overwatch protection of public venues that could become targets of terrorist attacks. This course takes place inside an actual public venue and includes crawl, walk and run progressions as well as live fire into purpose-built rifle traps with both deliberate and hasty FFPs.
There are multiple police sniper trainers who offer this course and it has been offered at over 25 public venues. Graduates will feel confident in their ability to stop or mitigate terrorist acts within public venue environments by quickly and accurately targeting targets from various Overwatch Positions within and around their venue environment.
